The plot simply concerns the difficulties that ensure when Mr Popper’s wish to have some penguins is realised. This book was first published in 1938, and is a classic of American humour, about the adventures of a house painter and his brood of high-stepping penguins and it has delighted children for generations. It is quite charming and a book to read aloud in groups of all ages.
