The Figure it Out Series supports “Mathematics in the New Zealand Curriculum” and supplements existing school mathematics programmes. This book is one in a series for levels 4-4+ students introducing real-life scenarios that require financial understanding. There is also a booklet with answers and teachers notes. This book will help them to think mathematically and use different ways to find solutions. It also provides exercises, activities and games around the theme of a gift of money to help students to develop financial understanding using mathematics and statistics concepts along with concepts from the social sciences.
