Reaching the Summit : Sir Edmund Hillary’s story

Johnston, Alexa with David Larsen

Notes
As a young man, Edmund Hillary loved nothing better than climbing mountains. In 1953 Hillary’s dream of going to the Himalayas and climb Mount Everest came true. Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa became the first men to climb Mount Everest. A few years later he made another dramatic journey, travelling by tractor to the South Pole. This is his first story, encompassing both the top and the bottom of the world.
