CONTENTS - Features :
OUR LOVE AFFAIR WITH WINE [New Zealand was once rated about equal with Antarctica as a serious wine-producing country, but in the last two decades we’ve more thank claimed our share of space in the world’s cellars. How has this great advancement come about?];
DIRE STRAIT [Think of sea with attitude and Cook Strait has to be near the top of everyone’s list. While many of us are relieved to get across, lunch intact, others choose to live beside it, stirred by the moodiness of wind, water and light];
DANCING WITH GRAVITY [The parachute started out as a life-saving device for those marooned in the sky without a functioning vehicle, but is increasingly becoming a recreational accessory for adrenalin junkies];
BREAK-OUT [Swashbuckling, gallant Count Felix von Luckner was arguably the most colourful character of World War I, and he spent the later part of the war as a prisoner in New Zealand - well, more or less];
THE FIG AND THE WASP [Huge ornamental fig trees grown in northern New Zealand are entirely dependent on pollination by minute wasps. For their part, the wasps cannot survive apart from the trees : a fascinating example of biological fine tuning];

LETTERS; GEONEWS [a new marine reserve]; WEATHER [the quest for high temperatures]; COMING UP [What’s in store]; MINI ADS;

Wine New Zealand POSTER : This poster illustrates how the different types of wine (white, sparkling, red) are made in New Zealand. It has information about the process as well as some diagrams. It also has a display of a winemaker’s year by month and season as he brings a new vintage to birth (something which involves year-round labour in the vineyard plus patient attention to detail in the winery).
