Building Science Concepts is a series designed to support teachers of NZ children at curriculum levels 1-4. The books provide a structured approach for the teaching of science concepts. Each book is based around a theme and includes information and activities linked to the strands and achievement objective aims of Science in the New Zealand Curriculum. Birds can be observed in our everyday environment. This book focuses on the common birds of towns and gardens, local bush, waterways and coasts, and looks at how their lifestyle enables them to survive in environments in which people’s influence figures strongly.
