Sounds Great! is an interactive resource for early literacy learning, with an emphasis on phonics and spelling.
Each CD-ROM comprises five titles, each focusing on short vowels, consonant digraphs (blends) and common spelling patterns for long vowels. Each title begins with a story, followed by a carefully structured sequence of activities. There is also an assessment disc that automatically records students results. Designed to develop phonemic awareness, knowledge of letter-sound relationships, skill in identifying rhyme and building word families, word building and decoding skills, the ability to spell phonetically regular words, the ability to write, and a knowledge of high frequency words and sentence structure.
