Old Hushwing has come to live in the barn near Billy's house. Then one day Billy's parents tell him they are having a new baby. They need Billy's bedroom for the baby and so they arrange for a new room to be built in the barn for Billy. But when the builders start work, Old Hushwing is disturbed and he flies away into danger. Billy waits anxiously for his return.
