This book is divided into five units. Each unit introduces and develops a different strategy. The units are carefully sequenced so the work of one unit builds on or uses ideas from a previous unit. Each unit has four focus activities and one review activity. Each takes approx 20 minutes. If the teacher chooses one unit a week, the book provides five weeks of strategy building for multiplication.Contents
The series is designed to help children develop a range of mental computation strategies for whole numbers, decimal fractions and common fractions. The activities focus on mental strategies often used in everyday life. The strategies are sequenced to enable students to build their confidence in mental computation.
