A newborn koala is smaller than a nickel. It will live and grow inside its mother’s pouch for six months before it is ready to peek out. When a baby koala gets too big for the pouch, it rides on its mother’s back. Koalas might jump from tree to tree, but they rarely climb down to the ground. Oddly enough, they are good swimmers. Examine myths about koala behaviour. Discover why koalas have a hard time living in many zoos. Learn about the platypus and echidna, too!Contents
