This story is in picture book format interspersed with a timeline and factual anecdotes telling of the role played by dogs in the discovery and exploration of Antarctica, and the role of the port town of Lyttelton. This book is told from a sled dog’s point of view, and the dog travels to New Zealand and learns about the adventure ahead. The story is interspersed with historical anecdotes and rare photos of Lyttelton’s continuing links with the Antarctic 1900-2014.
