Total Teaching : Raising the achievement of vulnerable groups

Mackay, Neil

Notes
This book is aimed at the ordinary classroom teacher to give them ‘just enough’ of the skills of specialist teachers and RTLT / RTLit to raise the achievement of priority learners and those whose achievement is a cause for concern. In the climate of ever reducing support and greater pressure on classroom teachers, the book presents strategies which close the gap between reading / writing and equips teachers to take ‘notice and adjust’ action when students are stuck. There is a particular focus on ways to differentiate and accelerate learning for students who do not have formal diagnosis / labels of learning needs but who will benefit when their Aspergers, AD(H)D and/or Dyslexix ‘type’ needs are identified and addressed in the unsupported classroom.
