Comprehension Skills Definitions : Fact and Opinion : The ability to distinguish between information that is true (facts) and information that varies between individuals (opinions) is of paramount importance. Cause and Effect : An effect is what happened or what a situation is, and a cause is why it happened or why it is so. Bias and Prejudice : Bias is an opinion somebody has about something. It may show their like or dislike for a particular thing. It may be positive or negative. Prejudice is an intolerant opinion someone has formed based on irrational feelings and/or inaccurate stereotypes. It is usually unfavourable.
