The So-me books are fun stories about a likeable character, So-me. Designed to help children sing in tune and move in time, they provide a basis for developing educational and music concepts and skills. By listening to and joining in with the stories children are encouraged to respond sensitively and imaginatively to sounds in the world around them.
This user-friendly resource is designed to give a framework to generalist teachers, and new ideas to confident music teachers. Activities utilise whole-body learning and are skill progressive. Musical elements are not dissected and isolated but rather included in overall activities which spiral and build on each other. As the title suggests, this resource is more than a music programme. By incorporating these activities in your classroom programme you will be developing musical literacies as well as extending essential learning skills that will benefit the child in all areas of education.
