The legend of Robin Hood began more than 600 years ago. During the reign of Richard II, the Lionheart, the King left on a crusade fighting away from England, and reluctantly left his brother in charge. Sir John was a cruel leader, who treated the people badly, taxing them heavily. So began the legend of the man in the Hood who lived in the forest. It was said that he was robbing the king’s men of these taxes, and giving them to the poor. Many fights and adventures are had hiding from Sir John and his followers, Sir Guy of Gisborne, and the terrible Sheriff of Nottingham, until King Richard can return and restore peace to his country ...
