Brain Strain is a fun way to encourage good reasoning, critical thinking and social skills through a ‘Philosophy for children’ approach. Using group discussion of interesting issues, including ethical dilemmas, the following thinking techniques are taught: -finding problems -questioning -making and testing hypotheses -defining -finding analogies -considering connections and distinctions. The program encourages the development of social skills - speaking confidently in a group, careful listening, agreeing and disagreeing in a reasonable manner, and respecting the opinions of others. Brain Strain 2 is suitable for students aged 10yrs and older.
